Fureru
“Fureru” is a piece for a dancer and a block of ice.
In Japanese, “Fureru” means “to touch” (without the intention of doing so) or “to be touched.”
Because of its ephemeral nature, ice has the unique ability to evoke an empathetic connection with the one who observes it.
By intertwining the living body and the body of ice, I seek to explore the meaning and the impact of touch when in contact with a substance of extreme temperature — to share the physical sensations and emotions it awakens in me, while immersing the audience in a sensory, enveloping experience.
