GLACE
Impromptu Arts Sciences
Created in october 2021
All public
This artistic and scientific proposal crosses the views of a glaciologist and a puppeteer on their practice of ice.
The puppeteer Élise Vigneron gives life to ice figures that she animates and that melt in an ephemeral and fragile device as much as poetic. Maurine Montagnat is a researcher in glaciology and is interested in the deformation of ice and snow, in the laboratory or more distantly on the polar ice caps or glaciers. Between the artist and the scientist that the ice brings together, the meeting was obvious.
Ice sculptures, heating plates, coring, modeling, diagrams, will be as many scenic materials to create a meeting which will put in play the metaphorical and aesthetic range of this matter, its physical characteristics revealing the global warming.
